First ever vinyl reissue for this set of four EPs that were originally released as a 2CD in 2002. Each of the singles is in sequence in tribute to the equinoxes & solstices. If you’re familiar with COIL’s discography then you know variety they’re capable of so aspects of the legendary group are on display here. Deep & heavy drones, electronic experimentation, spoken word, electro-acoustic noise, devotional singing & much more. Also included on the set is a rare “Moon’s Milk” bonus disc that was originally only issued on CD-R. SUPER HEAVY!

Not sure we could ever have imagined half of FUGAZI playing on a record on Impulse but here we are! THE MESSTHETICS have always leaned towards jazz with guitarist Anthony Pirog’s furious playing but with the addition of tenor sax player James Brandon Lewis the term “jazz” has officially entered the conversation. Interestingly though, this does rock, almost more so than some of the earlier MESSTHETICS stuff & you can definitely hear hints of FUGAZI at times. If you’re familiar with the later Sonny Sharrock records you might have an idea what this sounds like. RECOMMENDED.
