Extreme saxophone free jazz from the usual suspect PETER BROTZMANN. This album, originally containing the the first three tracks, was recorded in 1968 in Breman, Germany at the studio Lila Eule. In addition to the first three tracks, there are alternate takes of "Machine Gun" and "Responsible...", and a live cut of "Machine Gun" as well. This is a very comprehensive document of the work BROTZMANN has been known to hammer out. Assaulting, brutal, and, at times, carrying an air of finesse...but mostly assaulting and brutal. Not for the casual "jazzy listener." This is a aural revolution of brass and percusion, and one of the inspirations for the flourishing noise scene.

Stop-gap EP between albums from man of the hour ZACH BRYAN. We hear obvious country touchstones like TOWNES and PRINE (as well as Zach's peers JASON ISBELL and TYLER CHILDERS), but there's also a little BRUCE, some WESTERBERG, and at key moments even some golden age of confessional emo influence a la BRIGHT EYES and DASHBOARD. We're real psyched for whatever's coming down the pike next for this dude... RECOMMENDED!
