SIGUR ROS' Jonsi Birgisson is responsible for some of the most unique vocal recordings in alternative rock. His falsetto melodies & intrepretive style is unmatched & we were excited to hear what he would attempt on his own. Jonsi has teamed up with composer Nico Muhly & percussionist Samuli Kosminen for this lush & powerful album. Right off the bat, the songs are much more upbeat & bombastic than much of SIGUR ROS' output with thick strings, horns, pianos & pulsing rhythms. The production is loud which reminds us of a mix of M83 & some ANIMAL COLLECTIVE recordings & it wouldn't be a stretch to say that some of the more triumphant parts could be mistaken for COLDPLAY. This is kind of a no-brainer really, if you like SIGUR ROS even just a little bit then you're going to love this.

The British duo JUNGLE return with another classic album of modern soul & dance music. Their third album is the first on their own imprint Caiola Records & the songs are infectious & immediately memorable. Fans of their previous work, DAFT PUNK, Mark Ronson & even the more underground sounds of SAULT will love this. RECOMMENDED.
