Reckless Records is a group of three record stores in Chicago IL. We carry new & used CDs, DVDs games and loads of Vinyl. Originally started in London, our first Chicago location opened in 1989. (LPs & 7"s). We would love to have you visit us in person. We are always looking to buy your unwanted CDs, DVDs, and vinyl. Please get in touch if you are interested in selling your collections. "Lasted" is the third album from Portland based artist Thomas Meluch aka Benoit Pioulard. Meluch's songwriting style hasn't changed much for the album but we're just fine with that. Field recordings drenched in hiss & ambience permeate the album sometimes bleeding into the songs or playing out in the background of entire pieces. Meluch's acoustic parts can be busy at times but his technique is hidden by the lo-fi recording & ambient recordings. The Benoit Pioulard records have always reminded us a little of Elliott Smith & maybe even IRON & WINE but the rainy Portland vibe gives more of a GROUPER vibe to these melodic songs. IN MARCH OF 1987, a young band of weirdos going by the name PIXIES recorded 17 tracks of raw and vibrant art punk. Eight of those songs were released by 4AD as the essential debut EP 'Come On Pilgrim." Now, after years of making the bootleg rounds as 'The Purple Tape,' the rest of those sessions are finally seeing the (official) light. Early versions of tracks eventually reworked for other albums (including the killer OG "Here Comes Your Man), a cover of "In Heaven" from Eraserhead, and the very good previously unreleased track "Rock A My Soul" make this an essential listen for fans of this all-time band.
