When Numero reissued the Medusa "First Step Beyond" LP in early 2013, we had no idea what (left hand) path it would lead them further down. Now, the Chicago label has successfully navigated Mirkwood & has nearly reached the gates of Mordor with this amazing collection of 70's wizard, warlock, & occult themed hard rock. We imagine that most of the members of these groups valued their dog-eared copies of Tolkien, the D&D monster manual, Lovecraft & the Satanic Bible as much as their well-worn copies of 'SABBATH, 'ZEP & RUSH LPS. We would imagine that one look at the cover of this is enough for most of you burn-outs to fork over the cash for this. KUDOS NUMERO GROUP!

The fourth installment of Numero's "Local Customs" series features 24 tracks recorded at Kansas City's Cavern Studios from between 1967 and 1973. Located in an actual cavern that was part of the remains of an old limestone mine, the recordings from this studio & subsequent label are the Midwest's literal "underground" & range from heavy rock 'n' roll, psyche, & high school garage bands with tons of ambition. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
