Numero Group focused their reissue beam on the 90s San Jose slowcore band with a boxset in 2018. Now their great albums are available as individual reissues. Fans of BEDHEAD, TALK TALK, CODEINE, SEAM et al take note. RECOMMENDED.

Turn the cover upside down & look for the BEATLES' faces in the bark of the tree just below the "LEY" in "WESLEY". Don't let Bob fool you, though, this record sounds nothing like THE BEATLES. This is Bob's return from exile; a country-tinged album that is dramatically different from his previous three. The songs are calm & reflective with all of his previous rock tendencies stripped away. This doesn't mean a return to his folk roots, however, but it's the beginning of his foray into a rustic country sound. Although the lyrics are a bit enigmatic, the music is simple, direct, & melodic, providing a touchstone for country-rock in the 60's.

Dylan nerds, your wishes have come true. "Blood on the Tracks" is one of Bob's best albums & the recording process for this was legendarily lengthy. The famous bootleg "Blood on the Tapes" has been floating around for years & now we get an official release of the complete session (in the deluxe box set version) & highlights from those sessions on the CD & 2LP set. We're not sure when Dylan made the choice to add drums to the songs but it's clear from this release that the original intent was a more traditional Dylan folk record. We love "Blood on the Tracks" but there's something about these more stripped-down versions that really fits with the vibe of the lyrics i.e. it being one of the most famous break-up records ever. RECOMMENDED.

It's EARL, the missing member of OFWGKTA. TYLER's protege, the subject of the FREE EARL campaign. SWEATSHIRT's DORIS is as idiosyncratic in sound as it is in name. With production from the NEPTUNES, TYLER, RZA, & EARL himself, the sound is lo-fi, odd at times, & layered. Still what makes this record is SWEATSHIRT's ability to put a ton of meaning in a single couplet, & the consistency with which he does. SO HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
